Jagerita: An Unlikely Addition to Our Thirsty Thursday Drink Menu

Happy Thirsty Thursday from Intox-Detox!!!

Well, it's that time again: Thirsty Thursday! Or as I like to call it, Friday's Eve. We survived most of the week and there's only two more days until the weekend. 

Honestly, when I first saw the recipe for this drink I threw up a little in my mouth. The idea of mixing the herbal cough syrup taste of Jagermeister (which I love by the way) with the citrusy sweetness of margarita sounded disgusting, if not simply in-congruent. It sounded so bad, that I opted for only two small airplanes of Jager at the liquor store, thinking I would hate the drink.

Lo and behold, after the first two Jageritas, I was left wanting more. So I will definitely be making this drink again soon. 

Jagerita Recipe

What you need:

How you do it:

Make your Truvia simple syrup with 2 packs per ounce of water. As previously mentioned, we use the Keurig machine for this, which makes it really easy. You can also heat the water on the stove and mix in the calorie-free sweetener of your choice. Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously for 45 to 60 seconds. Pour into your favorite margarita glass and enjoy. Optional lime and salt. I always like a good garnish, but I skipped the salt.

The sugar is a bit higher on this one because cordials like Cointreau pack a little extra. What can we say? You can't live forever and this drink is pretty damn good.
