Today, we want to look ahead to a quickly approaching holiday we all love: ST. PATRICK’S DAY!
Keep in mind, St. Paddy’s is actually a religious holiday. For some reason in America we celebrate it by allowing everyone to bask in the honor (or dishonor, depending on how you look at it) of having Irish heritage and getting sh*t-faced on green beer. We’ll just ignore all the stereotypes: we are all fair-skinned gingers who drink and fight incessantly every day of the year and not just March 17th. Okay some of these might be a little accurate.
I also read that the original celebratory color for St. Paddy’s Day was blue – weird! Can you imagine drinking blue beer?
That got me thinking: I love drinking green beer. I don’t know what it is about changing the color of the beverage that makes it extra fun, but it really does. The problem is that the green food coloring they add to the beer is downright TOXIC. No seriously, most countries have banned these artificial colors because of the many harmful effects, which we won’t get into here.
What if we could make ALL-NATURAL GREEN BEER?
We can and I’ll tell you exactly how in just a minute…
As many of our educated Intox-Detox fans and customers know, the primary cause of a nasty HANGOVER is toxins. Sure, there are many physiological factors that contribute, including acetaldehyde poisoning, acidity, inflammation, dehydration, glutamine rebound, low blood sugar etc. Most of these are relatively easy and cheap to fix.
Intox-Detox specifically targeted the acetaldehyde poison (a natural alcohol metabolite in the liver, ALD for short) because it is not so easily fixed. Eliminating all that nasty ALD requires time. With Intox-Detox you get a boost and your body can detox faster, all while protecting the liver.
Great news! So the last thing we want to do is throw another nasty toxin like artificial green dye on the pile for our liver and body to have to deal with.
Even better news! Nature invented a green dye that is all-natural. I’ll give you a hint: “More like boraphyll!”
Pretty much everything in nature that is green has some chlorophyll content. The stuff is pretty much tasteless, unlike other alternatives I’ve read about such as wheat grass and spirulina. Don’t get me wrong – these green things contain chlorophyll and some vitamins and minerals too, but I’m not real sure how wheat grass flavored beer would go over with most of the beer-drinking crowd.
So here’s how you do it:
- Buy some Nature’s Way Chlorofresh liquid chlorophyll – this is actually really easy to find at the Vitamin Shoppe (where they do not yet sell Intox-Detox – go here and yell at them now!) It’s relatively cheap.
- Get yourself some beer.
- Add 1/8 to 1/4 tsp liquid chlorophyll to each beer. A medicine dropper is highly effective as it only takes a few drops to make the beer SUPER GREEN.
- Don’t exceed 6 tablespoons of Chlorofresh in a day. Keep in mind, at this ratio of 1/4 tsp per beer that would mean drinking up to 72 beers in a day. Probably not a major concern.
- Don’t forget to take your Intox-Detox prior to or during your St. Paddy’s Day celebration!

The really cool thing about chlorophyll is that it’s all-natural, detoxifying and acts as an internal deodorant for the body. Make of that what you will. That might be just what the doctor ordered for drinking a lot of beer and eating corned beef and cabbage all day!
